While driving my 2009 Chevy Silverado hybrid with 32000 miles my brakes stopped working my DIC showed brake problems, stable track and traction control, had it towed to Chevy dealership was informed it will cost $4000 to fix, the one bad parts is a Modulator Valve part #25922981, I have found a Chevy service bulletin from May -2016 #PIT4383P about this problem looks like if this part goes bad they will replace it can you confirm this, if I was on a highway this would have been a very bad accident thanks for your help

The contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the brake and ABS warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the electronic control module and the ABS module needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact that they would follow up with the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 70,800.

Incredible amount of frame rust. Vehicle only has 22500 miles but has extensive frame rust and front sway bar frame separation. Also heavily rusted brake lines. I have already replaced transmission shifter pawl and transmission cooling lines. I see widely posted occurrence on youtube & social media. I do not understand why GM is getting a pass on these horrible product issues. No listed recalls on site.

Steering angle sensor is faulty. This is an integral part of the vehicle safety systems, including ABS, and traction/ stability control. How can this part be no longer manufactured after only 9 years? all safety controls shut off while vehicle is in motion.

I own a '09 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 pickup with an integrated trailer brake controller. My driver information center gave me a warning "service trailer brake system". I took the truck to the dealer and was told that the ABS/stability control module was defective and needed to be replaced. They said it was on backorder from GM. It turns out that GM has no ABS control modules (part#25802684) in the entire country! with this module being bad it cuts power to the trailer brakes. You end up with no brakes on any trailer you tow that has electric brakes. This is an extremely dangerous situation. I was lucky that my trailer was not connected at the time of the fault. If I had been towing my camper and lost braking power to it, the result could have been catastrophic. GM has no fix for this. I and every other owner (a lot) are stuck with no parts to fix this problem. Please investigate why GM let their stock in the entire country go to zero on such a critical safety related part. Thank you

Stopped at a stop sign, and truck would not move so I backup then it went ahead. The first corner I went around heard a scrapping sound. Went to dealer truck had 16615 mi. On it, had 16615 miles on when I got it back, they said nothing wrong. Had same trouble 2 days later went back to dealer then they told me both rear seals were leaking that also ruined both rear brake cylinders. All was replaced they said was not covered on my warranty cost $191.20 rear wheel seals, $98.08 for rear wheel brake cylinders. GM was no help.

I have a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The brake system went out and the dealers refuse to do anything because it is out of warranty. I did some research and found that the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado on many trucks have had problems. I have another 2009 Chevrolet Silverado with 26,000 miles with the same problem...updated 05-26-15 updated 7/6/2015 updated 11/4/2015

The brakes on this Silverado do not release. You have to press the gas about half way down then they will "pop" and become free all at once lunging the vehicle forward. You then have to press the brake again due to the amount of throttle applied. Once applied again the brakes will lock up and the process repeats itself. This is what happens when in traffic. If the vehicle is traveling 20 mph or under when foot is not on the accelerator the truck will apply the brakes on its own pulsing and surging. This is a very dangerous situation when in traffic and trying to navigate through parking lots and roads with pedestrians.

I have had this problem occasionally since I bought the truck new, but recently it started to do the same thing on a regular basis. Start the truck and it's fine, but go to shift into gear and the service engine, service traction control, and service ABS lights and messages come on the dash. Today, I pressed the brakes while driving it and heard a click when I did so, so I pulled over and checked and found that if I push my brake pedal very far, my brake lights went out. I just had my vehicle serviced and inspected at the GM dealership about 9 months/5,000 miles ago. Hopefully this truck doesn't get me or my wife into a fatal accident...

Extreme chattering of the rear brakes upon application was observed by the owner/driver, including lock-up of the rear wheels (even though ABS equipped). The vehicle was taken to the autonation Chevrolet superstition springs dealership (6330 E. superstition springs blvd, mesa, Arizona 85206) for inspection and repair (selling dealer). The dealership informed the owner that both rear brake slave cylinders had failed and leaked hydraulic fluid onto the linings. This leakage had caused the sticking of the linings to the brake drums and resulting chattering/lockup of the brakes. Post repair, there have been no further issues in the last 3000 miles of use. The repair was at the expense of the customer. As this occurred at 36094 miles and four years of service in residential use, I consider this a product failure due to some form of manufacturing and/or installation defect with the brake slave cylinders. In 40+ years of automobile ownership of many brands with mileages into the 140K+ range, I have never had a slave cylinder failure, nor have I ever heard of a dual failure. This was the same comment by the service technician at the dealer. Please investigate, or at a minimum, add this to your watch list database. I reviewed the NHTSA's website list of defects, but found nothing regarding this type of incident. The fact that it was a dual component failure and could have resulted in an accident if hard braking had been required by the operator, the manufacturer should be made aware of the issue. I attempted to do so personally, but found the experience unsatisfactory.

Used the vehicle for vacation in 2011 as it was just 1 year old. Very little brake ped left going down hill. Going down hill and step on the brake and there was a bad vibration and growling noise from the brakes. I had it checked and the dealer ground the brake rotors. This never solved the problem, so they replaced the rotors. This solved the problem for the warped rotors for a while. Now the problem started again with 23000 miles and only growls and vibrates when going down hill where you have to step down a little harder. Had it checked out again and they say the rotors are warped again. I replaced the rotors and put new brake pads on and the problem is still there. I do not drive the vehicle hard and only about 4000 miles per year. Whats causing the brake rotors to keep warping.

Driving down highway, check engine light pops up, tractions control indicator light, along with digital display saying several things. Such as, engine reduced power, service traction control soon..........pulled over, had a very rough idle. Made it to parts store and have the truck scanned. Turns out it need the throttle positioning sensor needs replaced. Had them clear the code, drove few more miles and all happens again.
