The contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the door handles detached from the vehicle without warning. The vehicle was taken to al willeford Chevrolet (1603 us-181, portland, tx 78374, (361) 444-0250), but the cause of the failure could not be diagnosed. The door handles were reattached to the vehicle, but the failure recurred numerous times. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and stated that the vehicle was not under warranty. The failure mileage was 58,000.
The contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While driving various speeds, the door opened independently. The vehicle was taken to diamond auto group (768 Washington street, auburn MA, 01501) where it was diagnosed that the driver's side exterior door handle fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost of repairs. The manufacturer was notified of the failure; however, the VIN was not included in any recalls. The failure mileage was approximately 20,660.
