I was on my way to the lake pulling my boat. When I got near the landing, my power steering went out and the brakes would barely stop the truck. I man handled it to the landing and checked the fluid in the power steering pump and brake fluid. They were full. I sat there awhile wondering what to do knowing I could not drive the truck back home. After awhile I cranked the truck up and the power steering and brakes were working again.
I don't know what caused this or when it will happen again. If it happened in certain situations, it could be bad. I made it home and it did it again when I started to back my boat where I parked it. It started working again after awhile and that is where I am at now. I called a local Chevrolet dealership today and they have not returned my call yet.
Update from Oct 10, 2015: It seems the only time my brakes and power steering failed was when I had my boat trailor lights hooked up. I believe the wiring is wrong on the trailor and caused this failure. It has not happened anymore since I am not plugging my trailor lights on my boat trailor up. I am going to get the adaptor that just plugs the lights up and see if that solves the problem.
