The contact leases a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While driving at various speeds, the ABS indicator illuminated and then dimmed. Approximately three days later, while driving at highway speeds the contact heard scraping noises coming from the front driver's side tire and the vehicle shimmied. The vehicle was driven to a gas station and was losing braking power. The gas station attendant determined that the wheel bearing failed. No other warning indicators were illuminated on the instrument panel. The current mileage was 36,400 and failure mileage was 36,100. Updated 10/27/2008. The dealer found the a faulty left front hub-caliper bracket damaged due to excessive heat. The cv boot was torn due to excessive heat as well. Updated 10/27/08.
