The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the service air bag light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who replaced the air bag sensor. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and offered no assistance. The current and failure mileages were approximately 30,000. Updated 06/01/11
Consumer purchased this vehicle because of the air bag feature. Currently, every time there is an occupant in the passenger seat the air bag light comes on regardless of the weight. The dealer maintains that is the way the feature is to work.
