The evaporated canister went bad. The mechanic said normally this should never go bad. 1 week later the speedometer fails. The cost to repair the canister was $290.
I have a 2005 Chevy Silverado with 38,000 miles on it. The solenoid evap vent went an it cost me $171 dollars to replace. Turns out that they modified this part because the engine light came on. I did a search on the internet an it turns out that this is a common problem with these trucks. I think Chevy should replace this for free.
