Silverado 1500 LX 5.3L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 9,200 miles

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

On Monday, July 26, I had problems with my car. This car doesn't even have 10,000 miles. We left the house an hour from my residence without any problem and parked for about four hours. When trying to start it up to go home, two messages appeared on the dash: 1) "ESC Service," 2) and "Power Steering Service." In an attempt to turn it back on, the power steering reflected an inoperative power steering system. I turned it off for about 15 minutes and then turned the steering wheel, and this time the steering returned to normal with no messages on the dash.

Silverado 1500 LTZ 6.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 750 miles

I was driving my brand new 2020 Chevy Silverado, Crew Cab, LTZ with 6.2 engine with 750 miles on it, owning it less than 30 days, and all these lights started flashing on the dash. The vehicle started sliding all over the place, while I was trying to steer it, though I had it in auto 4x4. I almost hit a tree due to not being able to steer or stop the vehicle. Luckily there was a snow bank. I had a hard time stopping the vehicle, like the brakes wouldn't work. The lane assist light turned off on by console. I didn't know what was going on. I was on a snow covered, dirt road but, traveling less than 15 MPH. The "Service ESC" came on in the information system along with something else, but I was trying to figure out what was going on, so I don't recall what the second thing was.

Then the next morning, when I had phone signal, I noticed I had two emails from OnStar that stated I had a diagnostic alert for "Antilock breaking system" and another email with an issue "StabiliTrak stability control system". Needless to say, I spoke with dealership on Monday the 27th and vehicle is set to go to dealership this Friday 1-31-2020.

Silverado 1500 Custom 1500 5.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 11,000 miles

Brand new truck has had multiple recalls, and now taking it to the dealer because I had no power steering. When you buy a new vehicle you shouldn't have down time like this. I'm just glad the power steering went out before I took off down the road with my family inside.

After turning the engine on and off multiple times I now have power steering. I hope I get a good explanation, and resolution from the dealer as to what caused the intermittent loss of power steering.
