Chevy claims truck can go 5,000 miles between oil changes. The first occurrence was at 13,800 miles - a low oil message appeared in message center, I pulled over and checked oil - there was nothing on the stick. My next oil change was not schedule until 15,000 miles and needless to say I added 2 quarts of approved oil and scheduled oil change a few miles before 15,000 (14,970 miles). Second occurrence at 17,900 miles where I received a low oil message in message center. I stopped truck and checked oil - nothing on the stick. I added 2 quarts of approved oil. My next oil change wasn't scheduled until 19,000 per oil change sticker posted by dealership which is 1,000 miles less than their recommend 5,000 mile oil change recommendation. I reported the first occurrence and dealership opened up a oil consumption complaint and recommend I bring it in after 500 miles (yeah 500 miles), I scheduled per dealership recommendation, well, oil was at correct level and only 95% usage they said everything was good and sent me on my way with no addition follow up required.
