Automatic transmission and brake pressure problems. The automation transmission jerks when accelerating from zero miles per hour or at low speeds. It can dramatically increase the rate of an incident due to the powerful movement that the movement does to the whole truck. You can then feel the whole truck sway back and fourth due to the impact. This "jerking" from the start can increase the risk of hitting anything in front of you because of it not being controlled properly when moving in close proximity areas such as high volume traffic areas, high counts of pedestrians walking across the street, parallel parking, and parking close to another car in front of you or any other type of object in front of you. The brake applications take an extreme amount of pressure to stop the vehicle at all given times. My truck is brand new and purchased on 9/18/2019.

On June 16th 2019 I drove down to atlanta, ga for a baseball game. Midway I stopped for gas. When I turned back on the truck, I realized that I had lost a and if I get an amount of my braking ability. However, I had no lights on mu dash to indicate a failure to the braking system. I read on a GM forum that other owners experienced the problem, turned off the vehicle for 30 mins, turned back on the vehicle and the brakes worked again. They, however, had lights indicating a brake failure. I followed the forums suggestions and after 30 mins with my truck off, I drove the truck again and had no further issues. I took the vehicle into the service department, but as I expected they could not replicate the issue. I wanted to start a paper trail though incase the issue reoccurred. On July 10th the same braking issue occurred again. This time I was near my dealership in greenville, SC. I took the vehicle to the dealership and they were able to confirm a loss of over 50% of braking but no lights or check engine code (past or present) indicating a brake failure. I am very concerned and believe this truck is unsafe because of the braking issues and lack of confirmation of service lights on the truck dash. It is a death trap. They are not able to confirm a fix either due to not having a service error code to fix and turn off. Vehicle was in motion when issues occurred both times. On both occasion as, serious car accidents almost happened due to lack of braking ability.

The vehicle was stationary and had just been started. The following warnings appear on my display, 1) 'action required, steering assist is reduced dive with care'. 2) 'service, trailer brake system' 3) traction control / ESC light appears on dash. At this point the steering wheel cannot be turned. I called onstar to run diagnostics. A code of U0100 is stored. Errors will continue for 20 - 30 minutes and then go away. After that the truck is back to normal until it happens again. I have owned the truck for 2 1/2 months and seems to happens once a month so far.

Today 1/29/2019 while attempting to come to a stop at an intersection, the brake pedal became very spongy and I rolled into the intersection before I was able to fully compress the pedal almost to the floor, any owner of this truck know's how responsive the brake system is and it only takes a slight touch to come to a full quick stop. This was not the case today, I drove it back to my shop and the entire 10 min. Drive it repeated this failure. I got back to my shop and called Chevy and they told me to bring it in to have it looked at. On the way to the dealership, I could not get it to reproduce this behavior.
