I have a fairly significant vibration felt in the steering wheel on my truck I have it back at the dealer now for the third time. The first time I took it in they said they felt the vibration and it was caused by the torque converter. The dealer put the new converter on about a week later and my vibration is exactly the same. The second time to the dealer they told me that the stock wheels needed road forced balanced. This did not fix the problem and they scratched up one of the aluminum rims. Now the truck is back at the dealer for a new rim and the next round of possible fixes for the Chevy shake.
Update from Aug 18, 2019: Since my last visit the dealer put new motor mounts on the truck with no change to the vibration but it did solve a slight vibration felt at idol Last week it was back at the dealer and they changed the transmission fluid and fixed the scratched rim with a new wheel Still no change to the vibration felt between 35 to 55 I will take it back in a week
Update from Sep 26, 2019: I am now at 22000 miles and I am still suffering with this vibration issue My dealer pulled the wheels off a brand new Chevy truck and tried them on my truck and it did not help the vibration They then took my wheels and road force balanced them again They also did lots of pico scope readings and told me the truck is within specs I called GM the other day and was told to take it to a different dealer for a new opinion so I am taking it in tomorrow morning and GM said they will call me Saturday to check on my progress
Update from Feb 4, 2020: I have taken the truck to two other dealers and they both blew me off stating that the truck is in within normal range of vibration
