The Radio/Touchscreen of 2018 Silverado 1500 just starts changing channels, goes from AM-FM-Satellite-Media starts changing channels again. I was on my phone for work connected via Bluetooth to MyChevrolet, it dropped the call and started changing channels, could not make a call. Turned Bluetooth off to make the call on my phone and turned radio power off, it came on by itself and started changing channels again. Turned off again, repeated the same thing. I tried to recalibrate the touchscreen, the 4 corner spots work but not the middle. I’ve disconnected the battery and left it overnight, still the same. Cannot adjust the minutes on my clock and only the station presets on each end work. This I have tried several times myself and a dealer technician. They did not charge me, but if I go back they will.
GM/Chevrolet uses the cheapest of cheap electronics components and have been having issues, yet the won’t cover even if under warranty saying it’s abuse. They continue to use these junk Chinese components on an American vehicle we spend outrageous prices for that are definitely not reliable. This is my 2nd Silverado (consecutively) and my LAST. Cannot connect with my phone because it cuts off, an accessory I use often as hands free is so much safer.
Had same issue with radio (display out completely) and gauge cluster (fried/only backlights, signals and brute light indicator worked) on a 2009. That’s another bitching session. If anyone has a fix, please let us know. Thanks!
