April 04,2023 took my 2018 1500 4x4 5.3L Crewcab Silverado back to dealer where I bought new in 2018 to have failed A/C condenser replaced. Even though out of warranty GM & Dealership covered all but around $600-$750 out pocket to replace / fix due to my stating vehicle only has 28,700 miles on it…yes it was out of warranty. I was originally quoted $1700-$2400 range to complete these repairs from 2-Dealerships? Repair was completed & all working well. (Dodged an expensive bullet considering out of warranty). Still not Happy I had to pay anything for the repair with such low mileage. I have always owned & liked GM vehicles & Service. Just not their price for service. Most cases on class action lawsuits on failed A/C Condensers were on 2014-2016 models I saw on internet? Hope I have no more issues after reading others have?

There are multiple postings and GM already did a recall on several models but my guess is they avoided listing the Silverado 1500 because there are more of them on the road. We also own a 2017 Silverado 1500 and now are just waiting for that one to fail. They charged us a 179.50 diagnostic fee and then told us how many failures and complaints they have had. The part is on National back order with no projected date for delivery and they want us to prepay for the part. They have also changed the part number - that should tell you something. We will re-evaluate vehicle purchases for our personal and business uses moving forward as it appears GM cannot be trusted to care for their long term customers.
