CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 has an early trend of the transmission shifting hard, surging & jerking.
At the moment these trucks are still under warranty. However this transmission problem shows up right away with the average reported mileage only around 3,000 miles, so for now the 2017 Silverado earns our "Beware of the Clunker" badge.

Multiple electrical problems, very very dangerous. About two or three times a week losses all power for no reason. Rolling down a window, any window losses power, all radio presets gone, time starts at 12:01 am, AC blows hot air, cruise control off, and the compass is out of whack. When turning the steering wheel it locks up, and literally yanks the steering wheel out of your hands, and motor dies and no brakes. This is especially bad backing into your driveway.
Now it has progressed to losing all power at 70 mph on highway. This morning when I got in the truck to start it, immediately after starting lost all power but engine continued running. Pulling my hair out in Garland, Texas! I read somewhere about people having the same problems and one person said his garage found a large ground wire loose and corroded. Funny the people at the dealership can't find this problem. It depends on your extended warranty - most electrical problems aren't covered. Also about 20 minutes ago when I got home the electric power door locks started locking and unlocking.
