2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Chevrolet dealer.
CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 has an early trend of the transmission shifting hard, surging & jerking.
At the moment these trucks are still under warranty. However this transmission problem shows up right away with the average reported mileage only around 3,000 miles, so for now the 2017 Silverado earns our "Beware of the Clunker" badge.

I was making a left turn on to a 4 lane road when the power assist failed. Causing my to make a wide left turn going onto the shoulder and missing a light pole. Very dangerous situation. I get home drop the family off and called the dealership. I had two options either tow or drive it. Since I'm not that far from the dealership and only one 90 degree turn, I elected to drive. When I turned the key on the Message pop up Steering Assist is Reduced - Drive with care.
As soon as I started the truck the message went away and the power steering is working. Last week when this happen the service tech reprogrammed and calibrated the module. Apparently this is a recurring issue with some of the Steering Assist modules. The truck is currently at the Service Dept. waiting for repairs.
