The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that they used the remote starter to start the vehicle from inside the house. After a few minutes, the contact noticed a little smoke coming from the rear sliding glass window. The contact walked out to the vehicle to investigate the origin of the smoke and noticed that the glass from the rear window was glowing a cherry red color. The contact immediately turned off the engine and exited the vehicle right before the rear window glass shattered. The dealer (elm Chevrolet, 301 E church St, elmira, NY 14901) stated that the vehicle was not covered by a warranty. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure was due to wiring short circuit. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 40,000.

GM has recall 14315 for my year make and style of vehicle. They tell me that my VIN is not listed for this recall. My vehicle has the problems listed in this recall. All sounds do not work including the seat beat reminder, the door open reminder and all vehicle sounds from the speakers. GM will not repair it as my VIN does not come up in there system for this recall. How can my VIN be included for this serious safety issue.

When driving on a city street at about approximately 30mph, all electrical systems suddenly died and vehicle shut down. Coasted to a stop without power brakes or steering control, almost causing an accident. Turned off and on ignition and computer system had me "turn on and off driver window'. also reference a few other electrical systems errors that cleared after once again starting vehicle. During the resulting 20 minute drive home, electrical system showed a few errors, once when initiating a turn signal and headlights flickered but car did not suddenly die. Next day it is now running okay so far. Researching this sudden electrical and total system shutdown online I found numerous issues with 2014/2015 Silverado models from others. Discussed with local dealership service department and found they have seen other customers locally with this intermittent issue and have been unable to find or fix the problem.

I was on a city road driving at 45 mph about 5 minutes after I used the factory remote start. Smoke started pouring from behind the rear seat and then one of the back windows shattered. This is a widely reported issue and there should be a recall for it.

The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While driving approximately 45 mph and attempting to merge to the right lane, the contact crashed into the rear of another vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. There was no warning indicator illuminated. A police report was filed. The contact sustained a minor injury that did not require medical attention. The contact's vehicle sustained front end damage and was towed. The body damage was repaired. The contact was not sure if the manufacturer was notified. After the repairs, while driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle shook and did not drive in a straight line on the road. The contact also stated that the steering wheel and the seat belts shocked him when the vehicle was started. The contact also stated that the passenger side air bag was exposed and the air bag showed burn marks around the edges. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer who stated that there was no failure with the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

I brought my vehicle to the dealership that I bought my vehicle from after it showed what I believed to be signs of the electronic power steering (eps) recall affecting it. The dealership applied the fix that GM had and sent me on my way. The very next day I experienced what I believed to be the electronic power steering system acting up again. This time I was traveling at 55 M.P.H. on the highway beginning the interchange to another highway and could not turn the steering wheel for approximately 2 seconds. The loss of steering was almost as soon as I started the turn and almost caused me to go off of the highway. Then for the next 5-7 seconds I was able to manually turn the steering wheel without power steering. All of a sudden the power steering turned back on and, because of how hard I was trying to turn the wheel, I almost ended up in the lane to my right where another vehicle was. I had no prior issues like this until the recall was worked at the dealership. Almost immediately after leaving the dealership the truck was acting weird, and at a stop the truck felt as if it was struggling to stay running. The dealership was contacted and agreed to have it towed back to them two days later. Now they are telling me it is due to bad battery cables and that caused power loss during the turn. They spent hours scanning the system to find that this actually happened, which they claim they could not find, but there was a warning light that showed on the dash notifying me that the power steering was out and to drive with care, so I do not understand how they did not find it during their scan. They then tell me there is a service bulletin, that came out a month after the eps recall did, and it will be an out of pocket expense. I cannot stop thinking that this issue is a direct result of the eps software fix and should be included to the recall to replace the battery cables.

The truck shakes at speeds of from 35 mph, then it stops and when driving on the highway at speeds between 60 and 70 on the thruway it shakes again. The vibration is transferred through the gas pedel and into the seats and console. Also when brakeing it shakes. Its been in for service several times for this since I bought it. Also the voltage meter drops and I lose dash board lights.this happens while the vehicle was in motion on both city and highway driving. I'm tired of loseing valuable days off to drive up to denooyer Chevy in albany to have them look at this again. The truck travels straight and true but shakes at those speeds, sometime it makes a drowning sound as it happens.its in the front end part of the suspension I believe. The tires were all high speed balanced and air is perfect in all 4 tires. Has anyone experienced this?

My truck was recalled I received a call from my dealer about the recall. I took my truck to Decatur james woods Chevrolet which performed a recall on the eps module for a steering recall. Note prior to me taking my vehicle in I had no problems or issues. I take my truck in for documented oil changes and scheduled maintenance. Once they did the recall flash update reprogramming I picked up my truck and on the way home the dash lights blinked off the stabilitrac error and tow haul error both came up. I called the service dept immediately on the way using hands free system and the service advisor told me the recall couldn't cause that. On the road to my house the steering wheel jerked out of my hands light sprain to my wrist and almost took me off the road as the brakes also failed to work very well. The truck died to a stop. When I restarted it showed no errors and all worked again. The next morning when started it displayed a calibration error and had me open and close my driver window. When driving to my dealership jerry's Chevy it blinked the dash again when I used my blinker to change lanes. The power and RPM where all over the place and running very rough. When I got to jerry's they basically told me they couldn't touch it and take the liability and to take it back to Decatur they had messed something up. Next morning to to local mechanic we have used they put computer diagnostic on it and showed all kinds of errors as we test drove while hooked up. He said the recall program has evidently caused communication issues to other modules and can tear up the truck. I took it back to Decatur they said they couldn't get to it and to come back the next day. I dropped it off truck still having issues and running and sounding worse and losing power and voltage gauge dropping and going back to normal. Safety concern for myself and others on road due to this recall flash.

Air conditioning not working. Blowing hot due to worn hole in hose (thousands of known issues all with exactly the same symptoms and fixes... E X a C T L Y!!!!!!) called chev, the guy said NHTSA tells them what to pay for and what to recall so they're hands are clean of this issue. Pardon"???? worn hole? check bad condenser? check no bracket? check dealership/manufacturer participation? no way in hell! this is absolutely terrible business and there's no way the attorney general, the better business bureau and anyone else I can call are not going to hear about this. Oh yeah, the A/C never gets used, otherwise I would've had it fixed 20K miles ago under warranty but I didn't know it wasn't working. There's residue on the hoses from the leak which the dealership should've caught but they didn't. maybe I go that route"

The vehicle was restarted after several attempts, but the power steering failed to operate and the power steering warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (star Chevrolet, 1628 S azalea dr, wiggins, ms 39577, (678) 369-6037) for diagnostic testing and repairs. The dealer also informed the contact that there were no recalls in regards to the failure; therefore, the contact would be responsible for the repair fees. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 73,038.

2015 Chevrolet Silverado 5.3L 4X4 (48,000 miles). While driving last night I was U-turning at a major intersection when the truck lost all power, then flashed "stabilitrak" on the dash, and jerked the steering wheel out of my hand. Should there have been someone coming the other direction there surly would have a major head on collision. I pulled into a parking lot after re-firing the truck and tried some low speed sharp turns and sure enough the same issue. Flickering power, "stabilitrak" flashing on dash, and steering wheel jerked out of my hand. When I say steering jerked its not as if I just lost power steering, the wheel will actually jerk as if its trying to get back to center on its own. I left the truck over night and went back this morning to have someone follow me home. This is a major safety issue. There is no issued recall for my VIN. I've found hundreds of stories and videos on the internet very similar to mine for this same issue. There are some recalls for other model years that sound like they are aimed at the problem but not for my model/year and everyone I've found that has had the recalls for steering and voltage issues says that the problem continues. Its terrifying thinking that im driving a 6,000lbs mass that can shut off and steer itself out of no where. Ridiculous that this has not been resolved or even acknowledged by GM!

While parked over night in the garage the sabilitrak light was on and service trailer system. Truck wouldn't start so I jump stared he truck. That worked twice though out the day and on my last drive while I was reversing the steering wheel was pulled from my hand and the 'stabilitrak' light came on! finally while parked before my truck engine wouldn't turn over the 'stabilitrak' light came on again and 'service trailer system' I've never used my trailer system. My truck wouldn't even turn over 'crank'. I had to tow my truck home and I'm just happy that the steering wheel wasn't pulled from my hand with my two kids with me in the road!
