The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that when the steering column was adjusted upward, the key became in direct contact with the steering wheel paddle shifter which could cause the key to fracture. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was informed that the key might be exposed to the steering wheel paddle shifter when the steering column was tilted upwards however, that was the way the vehicle was designed. The failure mileage was 1,015 and the approximate current mileage was 2,000....updated 09-05-14 updated 7/15/2015
