The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While driving 10 mph, the steering wheel seized and the power steering warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to fairway Chevrolet truck mega store (3100 E sahara ave, las vegas, nv 89104, (702) 948-7865) where it was diagnosed that the battery wire failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact called the manufacturer and was informed that the failure was due to a software malfunction in the electrical system. The failure mileage was 77,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While turning right at 5 mph, the engine stalled, the brakes failed to slow down the vehicle, the steering wheel became difficult to turn, and the vehicle lost power except for the ESC indicator and a warning chime sounded. The failures recurred as the contact turned the vehicle to the left and the steering wheel also spun independently to the right. The vehicle was taken to jessup auto plaza in cathedral city, ca where it was diagnosed that the battery cable failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case for potential repurchase. The VIN was included in manufacturer recall number: N172085440. The approximate failure mileage was 22,800.
