We have a 2014 Silverado and the paint literally flies off while we are driving. Super disappointed with Chevy and not fixing this problem. It will cost over 8000 dollars to get our truck repainted.
I am very upset - I spent a large amount of money on this truck and planned on keeping it for a long time. I take very well care of it. Now I find the paint falling off of it, and even worse, now I find it is a known issue and my truck may not covered due to a couple month difference, even though it is the exact same issue. I would like to know how GM expects people to keep buying their garbage if they won't take of them.
Paint began to peel at the corner of the rear divers side door in June 19. Took it back to the dealership and GM did a "good will" repair and paid 25% of the bill. April '20 found numerous other bubbles and peeling paint. Dealership paint protection warranty would not cover repair as it was not an external cause. GM body shop quoted $8,000 to strip and repaint only the cab. I said "F*** that! I'm not putting anything into a potential money pit".
Traded it in on a new GMC Sierra. Dealership gave market value trade in value as they know the paint issue is a GM factory defect and any devaluing of the trade in would show an admission of the problem.
