I have noticed since the day I first test drove the truck that there seemed to be a slight dead spot in the gas pedal. Nothing major and is my only true complaint about the truck.
I first noticed it when my friend asked me if I could check the assembly bracket for any flexing when pressing the pedal down by hand (he has a 2014 GMC Sierra SLE) and sure enough, when I pushed the pedal down with my hand, the bracket in which the pedal is attached to had a very obvious flex until it came in contact with the firewall (I believe that is the proper term). I will try it with the truck running and in park to see if that is when the CPU begins registering that the accelerator pedal is being used. I will take it into the dealer when my next oil change is due and see what they say.
Worse comes to worse, perhaps a shim can remove the flexing problem and the dead spot in the pedal at the same time though I would rather it be a proper fix and not Jerry Rigged or I'll just leave it as is since I am well used to it and doesn't bother me as much as it used. Will update when I take it into the dealer.
