I go to pass another car on the highway and as soon as it downshifted, the truck lost all power, and the engine light was flashing. I limped it back to the dealership, and they spent 4 days and $900.00 diagnosing the problem. Oil was allowed to build in cylinder 4 when it was not firing, Oil in the combustion chambers, piston rings were bad on cylinder 4 and cam was looped. $4500.00 later I get my truck back, took another $200.00 and immediately took it to a shop that deleted the AFM from the software.
Fuel economy is actually better than what it was before I had the AFM deleted, and the exhaust sounds better without the engine turning half of itself off.
