Been noticing my truck running rough occasionally for about a week but thought it was in my head then one day after I got home from work I went back out to leave to pick up some furniture and the truck was missing terrible and the SERVICE ESC, and the check engine light came on with another warning that I can’t remember. Limped it to the dealer and 3 days later they said it is a bad fuel injector and it is on national backorder due to the insane amount of trucks with this issue. I called a friend of mine who works at another Chevy dealer in another state to see if he could help find me a part and he said no way they have 5 trucks just sitting there waiting on injectors as well. Thankfully my dealer put me in a hertz rental car which I do truly appreciate.
Judging from what I’ve been reading online on forums and YouTube comments people have already been waiting months for new injectors. I cannot wait to get it back so I can immediately trade it for a Toyota. And here I was worried about lifters…SMH GM just doesn’t make quality vehicles anymore. And they don’t care about their customers who already bought 60 thousand dollar trucks and are stranded enough to pull the parts from the production line. Trash company. Bad business.
Update from Apr 18, 2023: Truck was at the dealer for 2 weeks and 4 days. Replaced one fuel injector. From what I was told by the parts department from multiple dealers when I called around looking for the fuel injector myself is that the part number was updated and that means the part was updated. Assuming this is correct then GM replaced only the one faulty fuel injector with an updated part and left the other 7 as time bombs for me to deal with later. I understand “ if it ain’t broke don’t fix it “ but my confidence in this truck was lost. I traded it the day after I got it back. I will say it ran perfect when I got it back but I don’t trust GM anymore. After 3 brand new gm vehicles since 2016, two of them had issues within the first 5k miles. I’m done giving gm chances. The dealership was great and did a great job on the repair and did me right by providing a rental.
Bad fuel injector I have been waiting for part over 5 weeks and it is still not in. I have missed a few days of work because of this. I am Stressed out wondering what will break next, thinking I would have been better off keeping my old truck with over 150,000 miles on it.
