We thought the motor had blown up. All of the lights came on on the dash. The check engine light and what looked like every other light on the truck. Since our last Silverado blew an engine due to a lifter failure, we thought first thing this one did too. It wouldn't move, wouldn't go into drive, nothing. It shook really badly when you tried to start it. We called a wrecker and had it towed to the dealership. After a few days of troubleshooting, they called and said some type of rodent had eaten the wiring harness. Apparently a few years ago, the wiring harnesses were changed to be better eco friendly. The rodents love the taste of the new wires in the vehicles. Of course this wasn't covered under warranty. So almost $1000 later and a whole afternoon of waiting for a wrecker, it was a chewed up wiring harness. Why can't they leave things that work alone....like simple wiring coating!
