The contact had to park and restart the vehicle, but it would not accelerate past 10 mph. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the wiring harness cam sensor failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The contact returned the vehicle to the dealer where several repairs were made, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 131,000.
The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado. While driving at various speeds, the vehicle misfired and a small tick noise was heard under the hood. Over time, the tick noise increased in volume and became more of a knocking noise. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic who diagnosed that the cam shaft, rods, and lifters needed be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. When the vehicle began to make the ticking noise, the check engine warning light and several other warning lights illuminated. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and the contact was directed to NHTSA. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.

I am disappointed with GM for first time ever. I had a 01 that I got 350,000 miles on it and it had all original parts. Then I buy a 08 and I have oil leaks four wheel drive light on my engine runs rough and my air bag light is on. I don't get it and trust me I just saw a website with the same complaints about what I have when is GM going to say oh [xxx] we have issues with this year maybe we should do something about it. If nothing comes about this I will be going Ford and tell GM to pack sand I have driven GM my whole life and would like to stay but I have owned this truck for only a year and hoping GMC opens there eyes.
