I bought this truck from an individual and it was still under factory warranty with 26, 938 mi. After the second week of driving it, the alternator began to dicharge and would not charge until you shut the truck off and started it again. On my first trip to the dealer he says the altinator is bad, replaced it.. still had the same problem....On the second trip to the dealer he says...we need to replace the gauge cluster.. Still not fixed...On the third trip to the dealer , they kept it for a week and told me they hooked a computer to it and could not get it to do what I was saying it did. The service manager told me that it was operating on 11.2 volts and that was within GM's spec....Daaaah..We have a 12 volt system here......
I left the lot, (Friday) drove around the building and Guess What???? That altinator was not charging again. I drove home with the intentions to call GM on Mon. morning and to my surprise at 5:15 pm on Saturday( derby day) my truck was on fire in my drive way...Needless to say, I now had to deal with my insurance company....My Name is Ruth If anyone has had similar problems I would appreciate an email to me. blueyesruthc1@bellsouth.net
