The inadequate structural support of the sheet metal roof was discovered when attempting to install a magnetically mounted CB antenna to the top of the cab of my 2008 Silverado Extended Cab truck. The roof is so flimsy that slight hand pressure causes a deformation, i.e. collapse. This weakness precludes the installation of a CB antenna. By comparison the Crew Cab version has adequate support.
