Silverado LT 4.8L

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

driving down the road, the door locks start locking & unlocking several times, the speedometer and other gauges jump up and down and up and down, the radio resets to 12:00, dash lights flicker on and off numerous times and a loss of power. I had to pull over and shut off the truck. then, the truck was totally dead even though I had a full charged battery (not even the dome light would come on). I disconnected the (-) negative battery cable for about a minute then reconnected. as I reconnected the cable, I heard a click ( like a relay resetting). everything worked just fine for about 4 weeks, then it all happened again. Since then, it has become a recurring event at least once a month. I finally brought it to Capitol Chevrolet and they said there was nothing wrong because they couldn't duplicate the problem. On my way home, it happened again! I don't know what the solution is but any help would be appreciated. I noticed on this site, another customer had the exact complaint in CA. Did they find a solution?

Silverado LT 5.3L

I really need to figure out whats going on with my truck. while driving every time I step on the brakes the head lights flicker and the stereo cuts out. Also the door locks start going up and down all by themselves the air bag light starts flashing and then when I park and turn off the engine the truck goes completely dead. at times when I need to restart the truck I have to pop the hood open and wiggle the negative battery cable for the power to come back on. been taking it to the dealer and they cleaned the contacts on the battery connections and the problem was better for a few weeks. I was recommending the negative battery be replaced as it might have some internal corrosion but they wont.Tthey seem to think its some safety start module located under the steering column. If anybody has an answer to my problem that would be awesome as I need to get this fixed soon

2009JAN 01 Silverado LT 5.3L V8 • AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION • 32,500 MILES I had noticed the "flickering" when tapping on the breaks, but during my holiday travel, the radio and door locks went bizerk for 7 seconds. A few days later, i noticed the flickering again and when I arrived home, everything went dark as soon as I turned off the engine. I tried to start it right away, but with no success. When I got out of the truck and closed the door, the dome light turned on?! The truck started right up after that. I took the vehicle in and the dealer did a "software update" due to a recall. A few days later the car did not start with the key, but it did start with the remote start on the key chain?! The truck started a few more times after that, but I took it in again. This time, the dealer replaced the battery at no charge (warranty). I feel the problem has only been masked and my worry is that there is a wiring issue and I only have 2600miles left on my warranty. Anyone have problems with a loose wire that depletes the battery?

Silverado LT 1 5.3L Ly5 • AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION • 15,667 MILES In August the battery was replaced under warranty. On October 13, the door locks began cycling from lock to unlock while driving. Stabilitrac cycled on and off and warning lights on the dash warned that both the stabilitrac was off and parking assist was turned off while driving. The vehicle taken to Power Chevrolet in Peoria AZ and dealership claim the fix was to to replace the Mega Fuse due to arching. Codes C0900, B2470 and B1011 were found. On October 22 same problem re-occurred, but dealership claims no codes found. This time the fix was to solider the negative battery cable. Returned to the dealership today requesting that they fix the problem once and for all. Since the problem did not exist in their driveway they were not authorize to spend money to resolve the problem. Once I left, I observed the volt meter drop to 10-11 volts and the stabilitrac turn off, What a bunch of ZEROES. Called the Service manager Mitch Congdon @ 623-975-5204, and he stated if problem reoccurs to call him. NO RETURN CALL. BIG on LIP SERVICE and lacking actual SERVICE.

Silverado LT 4.8L V8 • AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION • 1,000 MILES Lights that dim at idle or while driving!

1. When truck is in driveway at an idle the lights will dim. The blower motor for the heater will also slow down.

2. While driving at any speed and you tap the brakes will cause the lights to dim.

GM's response is that this issue is not an issue at all but is what they call normal. And also on that same list with the dimming lights is slow cranking, dead battery, low voltage reading on gauge. This goes from 1990 - 2008 cars and light duty trucks. Also the hummer H2, H3. Some Saturn cars and also Saab.

Dealer will not fix issue but only charge up your battery, also they say do not attempt to fix the problem because it is normal. so if you like to come out to your brand new 08 or 09 Chevy with 500 - 1500 miles on it and have it not start these cars and trucks are for you!!!!!!

CHEVY STOP LYING AND FIX OUR DAMN VEHICLES.

I’ve been to the dealer had the cluster changed 2x, I’ve complained about this over and over again. No one dose anything, or can’t seem to get this problem fixed. I can say that while I’m driving down the freeway and the truck suddenly loosed power and the power locks go ape sh** there must be a major malfunction. It’s just a matter of time till I smack another vehicle with my 6yr old daughter in the back seat. Also, I don’t enjoy waking up and being late to meetings because the truck won’t turn over because it has a brain of its own, then after 20 attempts of trying to start it works fine for a week and acts as if nothing ever happened. I bought this truck new and have been the only owner from mile 1. I’ve never had so many electrical issues with 1 freakin vehicle in my life. For all I’m concerned take the damn thing back and pay me my money and interest for my time and trouble.

have brought the truck to 2 different mechanics and it never did it to them one guy suggested that there is a power loss he cleaned all the main power connections. Got the truck back after 30 minutes on the road the problem is worse. Now its been at the dealer but of course its not doing it to them. This is very annoying. other than this problem the truck is great.
