Silverado 4.3L V6

  • Manual transmission
  • 14 miles

I purchased a Brand New 2007 Sivlerado on October 14, 2006. This truck has always had a myriad of problems. First off I had the front end aligned 3 times in the first two months. It is still out of whack to this day. I have the manual 5 speed transmission on the 4.3 Litre V6 engine. It is always a struggle to get the truck into first gear. I have to put the truck in reverse first to get it into first. Then you have to fight to get the truck to shift into second. Third, fourth and fifth are fine. Reverse, another problem. I don't know if it's a transmission problem or clutch problem. All I know is that the truck trans is not syncronized at all. It's a constant struggle to shift the truck. The drivers side window rattles all the time wether the window is up or down... it doesn't matter. The passenger window rolls itself down about an inch to 2 inches while you are going down the road. The check engine light is on all the time. The dealership will reboot the system and it lasts for a tank of gas. Then when I fill up again the check engine light comes on. The ABS brakes squeal all the time like I have a load of pigs on the way to market. The truck bed squeaks all the time. I don't smoke, but the cigarette lighter has never worked since new.. and it is not the fuse. The right rear brake light keeps burning out... can't keep a right rear brakelight to save my life. Now for the most recent developing problem.. my truck runs out of gas when the tank shows 1/4 full. Yesterday, my gas gauge showed almost half full and I run out of gas... so, now the gas gauge doesn't work.

I have had this truck to the dealer a thousand times to fix the problems... but either they can't fix them or won't fix them. This truck now has 65,000 miles on it. I will never, ever purchase another Chevrolet again. If I could set the truck on fire and get away with it I would. I hate this truck. It is the worst vehicle I have ever had.

well i am back and with s&*t news first my tires, breaks, rotor and master cylinder all had to be replaced. i called GM head office 1-866-790-5600 (please call any and all complaints) and after apx 2 weeks the service ass at the dealer ship in Walnut Creek Ca. gave me the run around they as nice as they are said they will pay for the master cylinder $286.07 WOW. thank you so much. those that don't know my tires showed wear on the inside but the alignment was in factor spec. then a day later the breaks (front)started falling bad told dealer but was blew off as wear and tear. had my mech fix one of the break pads was gone not there Not Worn But Gone!!! thus destroying my rotor. mech tried to bleed breaks but could not why???? not the master cylinder was bad and after further invest. one of the gaskets in the piston looked either on backwards or ripped apart thus letting air into the breaks... i am calling the BBB and a lawyer. i have photos, video and write statements from four mechs. so wish me luck. and please report any problems to the GM corp. office @ 1-866-790-5600 not the shady dealers that say that we are family... i wounder how the new f-150 handles

Silverado LTZ 5.3L

Front brakes were squealing the day I drove my new truck off the lot. I thought it would go away in a few days but it only got worse. Finally, I took it to the shop after a month and they scuffed my brake pads. within 10 miles the brakes were squealing again. I took the truck back and this time they changed my pads and resurfaced my rotors. Within a couple of days the problem returned. After a couple more months, I couldn't stand it any longer so I returned the truck again. The service manager told me there was nothing else they could do. He said they had called tech services at GM and they said a certain amount of brake noise was normal. I said every time I apply the brakes is not normal. He asked me to leave the truck with him and he would replace the rotors. That corrected my squealing problem for about two weeks then it returned. I decided to just live with it since I had already been told there was nothing else they could do, but then the brakes started squealing even after I took my foot off the pedal at low speed. I took the truck back in and they turned the rotors. This corrected the problem until the next day then it was back. I just put my truck back in the shop again today and I guess I will have to wait and see what will happen although I'm not very optimistic.

Brake squealing has been a problem since we purchased the vehicle back in January 07. I first took it in in February and pretty much every month to 2 months since then, we've had this problem. The dealership has worked on this problem and says its their #1 reported problem -HELLO! - Fix it already. Its back at the dealer today after having gone 3 months w/ no squealing. I will NEVER again purchase another Chevy - and my family has been a lifelong Chevy family. NEVER again.

We've had this new 2007 Silverado for 7 months and its been in the shop over one month of our time. The servicing dealership states this is our problem and won't help us with repairs. The vehicle is under warranty and something is definitely wrong with it. In the past two weeks we've had the brakes done on this vehicle 3 times. Something is seriously wrong with this picture!!!!
