in the fall 2015 fan stopped working. After researching on line I replaced the resister and pigtail. some of the wires were melted and showed signs of being burned. Worked out fine until now July, I read there was a recall on this. I called dealer and they said that there was 10 years or 150,000 miles. I am taking it in this week and they will look at it. Let you know the outcome.

I guess this is a common problem, the resistor gets corroded and fails. Fairly easy DIY replacement, from what I read online, it's a good idea to change out the blower motor at the same time, especially if any of the connectors show signs of too much heat (motor draws too much amperage, overheats the connectors and resistor assembly)

the problem is fixed but my complaint is against chevrolet mostly. i had a mechanic work on the problem twice to fix it and then the third time a dealership fixed it. the dealership fixed it for free because it was a recall issue but they will not compensate me for what i paid the mechanic. Please give me advice who to contact.
