I bought this truck from a dealer 11/2012 it had 45,000 miles on it when I test drove it seemed to pull to the right when I braked and the alignment didn't seem to be right so I brought it back to the dealer they told me they would look at it . Dropped it off on a Saturday ,They told me that it needed work and that they couldn't get the parts until Monday so come Monday they told me it needed new calipers rotors and pads brakes a inner brake liner and a brake hose .that they fixed under warranty three weeks later the ABS light came on so I call them to have them look at it.That was on a Wednesday But I couldn't bring it in until Saturday do to work hours and where I worked. The day After I called them went to get gas pulled out of the parking lot and when I made a right turn out of the parking lot I heard a loud clunk and then it started to grind, first I thought I might have a rock stuck in the brake but after driving it for two days the problem got worse ,it started to grind and clunk. then when I tired to stop the bake peddle would pulsate and then go to the floor like I was sliding on ice . They told me that they fixed the front brakes.the first time I brought it in.To top that off They test drove it and used up all the gas and left it on empty now I have to take it in again FU New Prague ford MN

Under warranty, at 15000, pulsating brakes, fixed by dealer ( wrong) at 25000 same problem, same result. at 35000 same problem but not under warranty so mechanic tried to fix. new brake shoes. at 50000 same problem, this time the same mechanic replaced the rotors and new brakes. now at 70000 same problem do you think it might be a factory defect....I wonder

When under braking coming off a hill, very noticable surging of brakes as if the anti-lock system is engaged - even at light pressure.

Silverado 1500 V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 20,000 miles

At about 20,000 miles my brakes started squeaking like rusty springs and also pulsing. The dealer 'ground down' the pads and called it fixed. At 30,000 miles, same thing again, same fix. Finally it just started happening again at 39,000 miles out of warranty. I know the dealer is only doing what GM allows under warranty but my future service is all going to be from the small local mechanic that knows what he's doing.
