The problem addressed in your NHTSA action number: PE05020 for earlier model years of the same truck are occurring in my 2005 truck. This has led to near rear-end collisions. The brakes go into an "anti-lock" condition at slow speeds while braking, no matter what the weather or road conditions are. You should extend the model years covered in your earlier recall to include all thru 2005 models and perhaps beyond or issue a new recall based on this and similar complaints from consumers. Obviously GM did not fix the problem in follow on versions of the Silverado.

The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado. While driving approximately 45 mph, the contact abnormally depressed the brake pedal into the floorboard. The contact was able to drive the vehicle home where it was inspected by an independent mechanic. The mechanic advised that there was excessive rust on the frame and the rear brake line was fractured. The rear brake line was replaced. The mechanic informed the contact that the other front brake lines were also rusted and could possibly fracture if not repaired. The VIN was not available. The vehicle was not further repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.

Anti- lock brakes are activating on dry pavement at slow speeds. This happens 95% of all stoppings. When you think you will stop in 10-15 feet, it might take twice the distance as expected.

I have a 2005 chev Silverado truck where the ABS system comes on at 15kms or less. This happens on matter the road condition, its started about 2 months ago. Now it comes on all the time, everytime I stop. What happens is that the ABS comes on when below 15kms, scarely whne your not exspecting it. I reaseached this as to why or if theres any recalls. I found out the 1999-2002 chev Silverado's had recalls on these vehilces for this problem. Problem is that it stated that it's caused from corrision in the hub, giving a wrong signal to the ABS system.

Antilock brake system engages at vehicle speeds of under 10 mph on dry conditions. I previously owned a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe with the same problem. One would think that GM would correct this problem. Vehicle has 13,000 miles, but is over 36 mo. Old, so is no longer covered under warranty.

: the contact stated the brakes on the vehicle are not working properly. When applying the brakes, the rear brakes do not work. The vehicle was taken to the dealership to determine what the problem. The dealership adjusted the rear brakes and explained the vehicle was repaired. After driving the vehicle for a period of time, it is experiencing the same problems with the brakes. The vehicle was taken in a second time for repairs to be made. At that time the drums were turned. The vehicle was driven again for a period of time, while still experiencing the same problems with the brakes. The vehicle was taken back a third time and at this time the dealership is unable to duplicate the problem.

I reported that the vehicle did not seem to want to move from a stopped position. Approximately three weeks later the problem repeated itself but with the service brake system lights coming on.
