Idler arm wore out at 50,000 miles causing excessive slop in the steering wheel. Was not covered under warranty.

has any had this problem?? plz tell me a fix that dosent involve going to the dealer.i have called the dealer about this problem but they say they haven't heard of this..i think that was just fluffing me off!! HELP!!!
