Ok, now for the ranting and yelling. Second time - once again the check engine light came on. Took it to the same dealer to have fixed. Extended warranty did not cover it this time and after several calls found out it should not have covered it the first time - that the person who authorized it the first time lost their job over covering it. That's disgusting in itself. Why pay out all that money for an extended warranty. Would think the part would be under a warranty too. Nope!!! Now I would assume there is some underlying problem as to why the fuel sensor has a problem. At $700 every time it won't take long for us to go broke. Also assume the warranty doesn't cover it because the warranty company knows there's a problem with it and that's why they exclude it from their coverage.

Ok Chevrolet lets hear from you as to what we can do. We cannot afford to keep replacing this sensor every few months at $700 +Short of selling it, trading it in on maybe a FORD!!!!

Silverado LX 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,000 miles

Check engine light came on. Took it to the dealer we purchased from and was told it was a fault fuel sensor. Was very annoyed but glad the extended warranty covered it. Expected it not to happen again for a long time.

Silverado Z71 4.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,000 miles

The dealer diagnosed this as a faulty sensor on the fuel tank, a $600 repair. Wouldn't think these sensors would be going out at 80000 miles.
