While driving the ABS brakes failed to operate, the pedal went to the floor and eventually it stopped the vehicle, the dealer turned all four rotors and serviced the calipers.
While driving 5-10 mph powersteering went out, brakes as well. Brake pedal went to the floor. Vehicle was towed to dealer, ower steering pump failed, causing the brakes to fail, as well.
The problem is when coming to a stop (under braking) if you don't come to a complete and total stop and you decide to switch back to the accelerator, the truck free revs for about half a second and then dumps the transmission in gear. While this has yet to cause me any dangerous problems, I believe it very well could in the rain or ice/snow. If you're not prepared for it, sometimes it hits hard enough that for a moment you're somewhat disoriented, representing a dangerous situation if there's other traffic around.
When stopping, brake pedal was down to the floor. ABS brakes locked up and vehicle slid before coming to a stop. Took vehicle to dealer who could not duplicate the problem. Dealer replaced leaking master cylinder and deglazed the rotors. Transmission experienced slipping, clunking and would not shift into 1st gear, dealer replaced transmission. Rear end is noisy, U-joints have been replaced, however noise reoccured, consumer states Chevrolet has a U-joint and bearing problem.
I was traveling westbound on state route 262 at approximately 32 miles per hour when I encountered a stopped vehicle. I applied the brakes and the vehicle began an initial brake and then lurched forward without my releasing my foot from the brake pedal. This caused me to strike the vehicle in front of me. The air bags did not deploy nor did the seat belt properly restrain me. This caused me to strike the steering wheel with my chest and stomach. The hamilton county police office documented that the air bags and the seatbelt did not properly function. I was sited for following to close even though I feel that the brakes failed. I plan to appeal the ticket due to this reasoning in court on November 29, 2001. The safey of other owners/drivers of these vehicles is what prompted me to write. I would like to know if there have been other failures. Please send them to my E-mail address: Mbrusman@cinergy.com thanks for your time and attention with this matter.
ABS brakes, do not stop. I was going 40mph and a flock of turkey was in the road, I put on my brakes and they went to the floor. Thank god that there was no oncoming traffic. Your brakes are there to stop you, not to go to the floor and travel about another 100 feet. I know there has been alot of complaints about these brakes, and my dealer said my brakes are fine. I guess it will take people getting killed in order for someone to adress this problem. Another problem>>> I have this clucking nosie in the rear of my truck, it sounds like the rear of the truck is going to fall off. A dealer stated that the drive-shaft yolk was dry, they removed drive-shaft and lubed yolk. Problem is worse than it was before. This is a 2001 brand new truck, I should not be having all these problems.
While coming to a stop vehicle accelerated, applied brakes, but vehicle kept going. Went over a small barrier which caused vehicle to become airborne. Came down, and hit a parked vehicle. Distance travelled about 100 feet. Consumer injured back. Damage to vehicle unknown at this time.
While driving the ABS brakes failed to operate, the pedal went to the floor and eventually it stopped the vehicle, the dealer turned all four rotors and serviced the calipers.
While driving 20 mph brake and power steering pump broke. Consumer rearended another vehicle with frontal impact. Brakes did not take hold. Consumer contacted dealer, and mechanic stated brakes should not have broken.
While driving vehicle at slow speed brakes would go down to the floor.this failed to stop vehicle, and happened intermittently. Contacted dealer, and dealer stated nothing to be done.
While driving at 10 mph consumer applied brakes and vehicle kept rolling. Then, after roliing about 10 yards, it stopped. On 05/01/01, consumer applied brakes when coming to a stop sign, and vehicle rolled right through stop sign. Consumer took to vehicle dealer, and they said this was normal. Consumer had applied brakes too fast.
When attempting to apply brakes while hauling/pulling materials or riding brake pedal, there will suddenly be no resistance behind brake pedal, and consumer can push pedal all the way to the floor. Dealership has examined vehicle, and determined operation of brakes to be normal.
