While pulling away from a stop sign or traffic light accelerator pedal stuck. Owner contacted the dealer. Who recommended that the owner use a foam padding/ sand paper material and rub the inside of the throttle body.
Whenever the engine warmed up it caused the accelerator pedal to stick intermittently, the accelerator pedal had to be depressed hard to get the vehicle to accelerate from a stop position. And the emergency parking brake would not hold properly when parked on an incline. Vehicle continued to roll. The dealer was notified.
Accelerator pedal sticks, and driver has to depress the gas pedal hard to accelerate. Once the accelerator pedal engages, the vehicle accelerates to a high speed. On one occasion, driver depressed the accelerator hard and the vehicle accelerated and hit a dog.
Throttle sticks in the closed position. You then need to push it very hard to go. Sometimes it causes you to lurch out in traffic. Have paid dealer to fix once, but did not help. I am aware of 3 1999 Chevy Silverado trucks. All have same complaint.
The accelerator pedal became stuck while driving. The pedal was serviced by the dealer several times, but the problem still existed. Related investigation ea-02-015.

When starting engine, the gas peddle will stick. You have to apply foot pressure to break it loose. The car will lurch forward. This truck has been doing this for a while.
The vehicle has a hard throttle when pressed, consumer states the throttle has to be pressed very hard, then vehicle will take off unexpectedly. Often nearly hitting another vehicle. Consumer states carbon has built up around the brake pedal. Dealer will clean off the carbon.
Consumer state when depressing the gas pedal to gain speed consumer would have to use force to depress the pedal without any indication pedal would become stuck.
Consumer states that while driving at any speed and no warning the throttle will stick and it will be hard for the consumer to get control of the vehicle to decelerate. Dealer notified.
When applying accelerator pedal it will stick. Consumer then has to press harder. This will cause vehicle to lunge forward. Vehicle at dealership at this time.
The accelerator pedal sticks at rest and has to be pushed very hard to break it loose; this causes the vehicle to lunge forward. I have come very close to having an accident several times due to this problem. I talked to several people with this same year and model truck and they have the same problem. I called my dealer to see if a recall had been issued on this and was told no. A technical bulletin has been issued by the manufacturer regarding this problem (the dealer didn't tell me this) and I feel there should be a recall rather than a bulletin.
Sticking accelerator problem started less than 20,000 miles. Accelerator linkage needs to be replaced. Accelerator pedal has to be mashed with excessive force to become unstuck which increases unintended speeds. Dealer was notified.
Gas pedal sticks every time you start the truck, which makes you lunge forward or backwards every time you drive. I have read numerous complaints on this situation & I think it should be recalled. The ABS system went out and when I took it to the shop they said it was very common for the Chevrolet, Silverado to do that, I think it should be checked on too.
Consumer stated the accelerator pedal is sticking, at 15000 miles pedal began sticking, dealer replaced the throttle plate assembly at around 32000 miles. This will be the third replacement.
