The ABS control valve and ABS control module shorted out causing the ABS warning light to illuminate on the instrument panel while driving. Water had entered both units, the pins of the control unit and sockets of the module unit were covered with rust, shorting the system, in some manner water entered through the control unit and caused the pins and sockets to rust resulting in premature failure.
1999 Chevrolet Silverado/27420 miles/ ABS light came on/ABS motor continues to run even when engine turned off/ seems like this is a safety issue, and also numerous incidents of this occuring/ is something going to be done to force Chevrolet to have a recall?
At 51,346 miles the ABS motor stopped working, which caused the ABS light to remain on. The ABS motor would remain running, after the was turned off. The dealer had been notified, and vehicle was not covered under a recall. Ph the consumer requested a full reimbursement. Scc
