When hitting a rough spot on the road at slow speeds, the brakes go out for about 50 to 150 ft. Owner has to use emergency brakes to slow down. Dealer says the ABS is engaging, and owner will have to learn how to adjust.

The 1999 Chevrolet truck ex silv antilock breaks have been failing at random times since April 1 1999. First at slow speeds and then at high speeds randomly. On 720-1999 my speed was 60 mi hr and the brakes failed when a deer crossed the state highway between graham tx and breckenridge tx. The brakes delayed and I hit the deer dead center of my bumper and grill! the air bags didnot inflate ever!

My 1999 Silverado's anti-lock brakes fail intermittently at slow speeds. The symptoms, occurances and frequency of failures are indentical to the ones General Motors reported in a press release dated 7/21/99. Several weeks ago, I took my truck to the local Chevrolet dealer. The service department stated that they had not received any bulletins from General Motors regarding the type of brake failures I described however, the service manager did state that one other man in town reported the same problem in his 1999 Silverado which almost caused an accident. Please advise how I may resolve this sitiuation with my truck's brakes. Thanks!

The vehicle vibrates at and after 65 mph, the steering wheel shimmies and shakes. Have taken to dealer on two seperate dates for repair. Was told cause unknown. Tires have been rotated and balances 4 time in 6 months. Tire dealer blames wheels or other mechanical problems. Brake pedal will go to floorboard with slight pressure. Have not had to make panic stop. Vehicle vibrates under slight pull at low speeds as if pulling heavy load.
