Was driving vehicle approximately 45 mph when ABS light came on, and had no brakes. Was stepping semi hard on them. Trying not to rear end vehicle in front. Control module made loud whinning noise. Finally, vehicle stopped. Still making whinnin noise after turning it off. Disconnected fuse to ABS brake light. Took to dealership & was informed not under warranty, and would not repair ABS brakes.
ABS motor would came on and caused complete brake loss, disengaged ABS system to activate the hyadraulic brake system. Dealer notified, and informed consumer that vehicle was out of its warranty. Any repairs would be at dealer's cost.
The ABS control valve and ABS control module shorted out causing the ABS warning light to illuminate on the instrument panel while driving. Water had entered both units, the pins of the control unit and sockets of the module unit were covered with rust, shorting the system, in some manner water entered through the control unit and caused the pins and sockets to rust resulting in premature failure. During low speed brake application under normal braking conditions pedal is soft, requires pump to bring brake pedal to top of travel. Brakes will intermittently fail to stop vehicle, resulting in several near misses.

I was slowing down for a red light when I pushed in on the brake it would not work and I was pushing on it with all the force I could apply trying to get it to stop. I heard a strange grinding noise the whole time I was applying the brakes.
ABS module went bad. ABS pump motor wouldn't stop running. I pulled the fuse and took it right to the dealer. They didn't have a module in stock. It's been over a week and it's still not fixed. I'm driving without ABS.
Vehicle would not stop on clean, dry concrete surface at low speed. Vehicle was cold (30 F), driven about 100 yards, crashed slightly into garage door while attempting to park. Brakes did work at the last moment after pushing pedal very hard, and left a short skid mark from front tires only. ABS appeared to be operating when conditions were such that it should not have been activated.
At normal braking procedures brakes will intermittently fail, causing longer stopping distance. Dealer cannot determine cause of defect. The brake failure occured three times.
Motor that controls ABS system does not shut off when the vehicle is turned off. To shut off wire has to be unpluged manually. Dealer has been contacted.
Service department for wheeler Chevrolet cannot find the cause for the failures, they said they hoped the problems was fixed, however the right wheelbearing had to be replaced again and the brakes failed because of the rotor locking to the spindle when the bearing wore out after less then 30 miles and I have retained a private company to correct the defect and to see why wheelers could not sole this problem, they told me at one point that I shouldn't worry about the grinding noise the bearing prior to this one was making and to drive as normal as you can see by the low milage I dont drive it and until the saftey issue is resolved I will not allow my family to either.

No visible damage to my vechicle. After leaving scene, the ABS light on dash was on. On driving directly to the dealer, the ABS activated on any braking and increased the stopping distance. The dealer replaced module and found water in it. My truck has never been off-road, or in any deep water.

This is an intermittent problem that occurs unexpectedly. When brake is applied pedal goes to the floor, resulting in no braking power. Dealer cannot duplicate the problem. The customer is concerned about safety, since the problem could reoccur anytime in the future. Customer had problems with the transmission and rear gears on rear axle.
When going over a rough surface and applying the brakes, they let go and it feels as if you are not applying the brakes at all. Several close calls with accidents because of this. Told the dealership several times of the problem. They told me it was just the ABS system and I was not use to it but it was doing what it was supposed to do. After several attempts to get them to understand this was not normal they have still not been able to fix the problem. Only vehicle we own and am afraid we are going to have a major accident.
Intermittently brake failure. Dealer has attempted to fix defect 4 times, but defect reoccurred and couldn't determine cause. Also, a clunk in the front end indicta a loose part in the suspension or engine. Dealer has attempted to fix defect 6 times, but couldn't determine cause.
