In early May 2000, the left front tire blew out going 65mph on the highway. I was able to keep control of the vehicle and pull into the breakdown lane to replace it. The tire was a Firestone steeltex at tire which was original equipment on my chen CK1500 with approx 60,000 miles. There is still adequate tread on the tires. It looks like a sidewall blowout. When making a sharp left turn, the right front tire rubs against the frame and the sway bar, which eats up the tire. Dealer stated that the problem was normal and there is no remedy for the problem. Manufacturer states the same.
