I have a cherry 1990 Chevy Silverado, with low miles. Kept in a garage when not driven. Retired in 2000 and started driving it and parking out side overnight, etc. Paint started peeling off of the hood almost immediately. Looks like a snow storm going down the road. had the hood repainted in late 80's due to vandalism and was told the paint would not flake. Really!!
