This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
I own a 2000 S-10 pickup I had the tailgate open and I sat on it and the tailgate straps broke and I feel to the ground I already have back problems and when I fell I hurt my back and had to have treatment done on my back by my chiropractor. My husband called the Chevy company and told them that the straps broke and asked if there was a recall on them they said yes but not on the S-10 only on the Sierra and Silverado. They would do nothing to solve this problem. So I went into the recall site and it said they had 42 complaints on the S-10 and sonomas on the 2000 year I don't understand why nothing is being done to fix these if they have had this many complaints I have talked to 2 other people that have this same problem they said they just never took the time to file a complaint. So how many others are there out there like this ? I feel very strongly that they should be responsable for fixing this. Thank you beverly ustaszewski.
