Tailgate straps broke when opening tailgate causing damage to tailgate when it hit bumper also drive side recliner lever broke and third door latch broke.
My tailgate supports both snapped at the same time my son was crawling out of the back of the truck and tumbled to the ground. Also shortly after I purchased the truck in 2001 both sides of my seats the recliner knobs both broke. I also have tried several attempts to turn my air bags off on the passenger side and they won't go off.
While driving at any speed driver's seat reclined. Consumer managed to pull over, and temporarily fixed the problem. Then, drove home. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.
Seat levers on both seats have broken off completely. Dealer stated that it would cost $200+ each to replace them, dealer mentioned that this was a frequent occurrence for the vehicle
I bought the Chevy with only 30,000 miles on it. But ever since the beginning the third brake light has never worked and I always replace the fuses and the little light bulbs. Also have had trouble with the transmission and have had it rebuilt and the radiator twice. I just have had more than enough problems with the truck I regret buying this truck.
Chevrolet S10- #1 both seat reclining latches have broken off (cheap pot metal used in latch). Dealer laughed saying that he has had many reports about this but it is not a "manufacturer's defect", but it will cost us $70 for each mechanism plus hundreds of dollars in labor cost. I have noted many other complaints on your website regarding this. #2 third door latch broken, also noted other complaints on your website about this.
The reclining mechignition on both seat are made of very cheap metal, and both have snapped off at the seat itself. Also you can be driving down the road and the seat will slide back after releasing itself from the locked position. And the third door handle is plastic and breaks when trying to open it in the cold weather.
