First seat (driver) broke about 2 years after I bought it, then about a year or so later the other went. And yup, its crystallized metal like pot metal. Just came apart, and I really am not sure if its something that's easy enough to just fix. $200 is quite a bit to spend on something that just fell apart and isnt used on daily basis.

Second time I had ever used the lever and I purchased the truck NEW and I was the only one who had ever driven it. The screw/bolt that held the lever is what broke.

Both seat adjusters broke within about a week of each other. You can't just replace the handles, because the metal they attach to is broken. Looking at the pieces, it is highly crystalized like pot metal. You can purchase a new handle and the hardware it attaches to for about $100 per side. The parts guy said that he is constantly yelled at by s-10 owners because they think chevy should cover this since it is so rampant.
