The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The contact stated the driver side seat belt buckle failed to latch. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician diagnosed that the driver side seat belt buckle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 37,000.
Please be advised this car was in a front end collision, seat belts were replaced passenger seatbelt seems to hang up, locks without notice. Makes it very uncomfortable as it keeps getting tighter with the slightest movement by passenger.
2006 Monte Carlo has had problems with the seat belt and air bag failure. The air bag light illuminated. Diagnostics were run but no problems were found. When the air bags failed, this caused an issue with the onstar system. The air bag light was on while someone was sitting in the passenger seat. This meant that the air bag was not activated. The seat belt indicator light illuminated. The dealer replaced and reprogrammed the SDM. The onstar system had been replaced once. The air conditioner has been replaced once. The keyless entry system has been replaced and reprogrammed numerous times. There has also been a problem with the traction control system not functioning.
