Bought this car with 20,000 miles on it and within 2 months I had this problem "fixed" twice. And as of this writing in 2010 it still isn't fixed. After the third time I took it in to get fixed, I finally ran out of paitience and time under warrenty. I think this would be a useful option if it worked when it should.

The tire pressure sensor was one of the first things to go. I've taken to carrying a tire gauge and a tire pump in the car at all times just to be sure there are no problems.

I've gotten some pretty painful electrical shocks when exiting this vehicle, especially in dry weather. I've never had this problem from any other vehicle.

Monte Carlo SS 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 26,650 miles

Went to the dealer to repair a power steering cooling hose under a recall notice. they fixed this and I asked them to repair the "service tire monitering system" message i was getting when ever the car was in drive. They said the left front tire sensor was shorted out .They could not tell me why ,I asked them to replace it. part was $75.35 ,the rest was "labor"!

Monte Carlo SS 5.3L V8

The tire pressure sensors on this car are complete lemons. First one went out less than a year after purchase, and this problem hasn't stopped since. Had a few replaced in the beginning, and then just gave up. Intermittent function on all 4. Simply too annoying to keep fixing. Had them all disconnected.
