This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Vehicle is developing body sheet-metal rust due to an apparent manufacturer painting defect or incomplete paint during the assembly process. Both rear quarter panels have begun rusting in the same areas, on the "spot-welds" or "punch-welds" where the inner and outer fenders are welded together. A local Chevrolet dealership has physically inspected vehicle, and supposedly submitted repair estimate to General Motors to see if company would repair. This occurred on Tuesday, July 26, but have heard from neither dealership nor General Motors (mileage at time of estimate approx. 43,000).
