The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The contact was driving approximately between 30-40 mph on normal road conditions. The fuel gauge displayed an inaccurate reading at any given speed rate. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for inspection. There was a separate occasion when the vehicle was taken to a an independent mechanic in which the instrument cluster was replaced. The failure continued after the repair performed on the vehicle. The technician stated there was not a remedy for the failure. The vehicle has not been repaired for the malfunction.. the contact had a concern of the potential safety hazard. The failure mileage was 67,000. Updated 3/30/10 the vehicle has been repaired with the assitance of GM. Updated 06/04/10.
