When I turn on switch for the fan for the heater/AC the fan does not turn on and my rear defroster will not work. If I turn it on and off, I can hear a change in the sound of the engine and a click either under the hood or in the dash (can't tell which). Usually as soon as I shift into gear to start driving, it will come on. Today it waited until I had gone about 5 miles before it finally turned on.

Comments : Hello GM, I am an owner and customer. My question about the condition of a 2001 Monte Carlo SS regarding the a defect in the signals, air condition, heater and of course the traction light. Yes, these are all flaws in the vehicle that was sold to customers. This has been an issue with all 2001 Monte Carlo SS and some newer models, also. The signal issue is more important then the others. This cause effect is a more dangerous issue when the signals do NOT operate at the specific time when making a right or left turn. This has been an on going problem for some time now and NEEDS your direct attention before some one gets seriously injured or killed by being rear-ended or making a lane change. I am surly not the only one having this issue as I have spoken to many owners with the same on going problem, just can't seem to get the issue solved. Their is a site where customers can visit to log complaints, it is where GM may want to visit and document the issues since nothing is being done. The site is www.carcomplaints.com We as family members with children, owners and customers need special attention regarding all these issues that effect all of us car owners. Please, if you can, issue a recall on all Monte Carlo SS 2001 and have these issues repaired as soon as possible before some one is seriously injured or worse. I will be waiting for your reply an urgent need.

Thank you, Mr.David Whoolery

It was a bit of a pain because I've never had that happen on any one of my other cars...and this car was way newer than them! Just all of these cheaper parts they are using now...they just don't last like they used to!
