Turn signal flasher - inoperative. Also affects 4-way emergency flasher. The turn signal flasher unit is embedded in the dash- as part of the four-way emergency flasher. The flasher unit has failed, and I can't get to the unit to replace it. As a result, my turn signals do not work. I have scheduled a replacement time with the dealer, but am operating in this impaired condition while waiting to get it fixed. The information about replacing a flasher is not in the operator's manual.
Blinkers work on and off. Hazard lights affected also. No flasher in my model car. Only a hazard switch. Very difficult to find. Went faulty. It is located right behind the hazard button behind the dashboard. It controls the blinkers and the hazard lights. Go figure.
While using turn signals, the turn signals intermittently will work and not work. I have found that if they are not working that I can get them working again by activating the 4-way flashers. Sometimes it takes pressing the 4-way flasher button numerous times to get the 4-way flashers working but then the turn signals will work again. I believe that the problem is in the flasher unit. This seems to be a very important safety issue.
Intermitant failure of turn signals and four-way hazard flashers. Signals will unexplicably cease operation when activated or fail to activate at all. Alternately, they will operate properly. Condition was replicated only once in 4 dealer service visits and then did not persist long enough to facilitate fault isolation. Condition is highly dangerous and could lead to accidents.
