This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
While changing the oil in my car, my husband noticed an oil leak. Took the car to a dealership, morris Pontiac, and was informed that there was not specific area of leak, they stated that the engine itself is leaking and the engine will need to be sealed. They stated that to do that, they would have to totally tear down the engine and seal it completely. I feel with the small amount of miles on my car/engine this problem should not be. It seems since I have owned the vehicle I have had many major problems with the car, including replacing a transmission. We live in an area without hills/mountains so there is very little if no strain on transmission or engine.
