The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu maxx. The contact stated that while driving 30 mph, she smelled gasoline inside of the vehicle. The contact stated that she took the vehicle to the dealer for inspection where they stated that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the vehicle did not have any open recalls. The failure mileage was 87,660. Updated 9/19/13 the technician found the line connecter leaking. The technician recommended replacing the fuel pump and sending unit. The consumer only authorized the replacement of the fuel pump.
